Is myMedStick easy to use?
Every myMedStick comes with the software and drivers all ready for personal use. Instructions are included to help you get started. Simply fill out your medical information on the USB drive and the save the data.
Where should I keep myMedStick?
myMedStick can be kept on your keychain, in your purse, wristband or on a lanyard/necklace.
How is my information secure?
Your information is encrypted and password protected, so only you can change or see your personal information. When you receive you’re myMedStick, change the default password and start entering your personal data. Change the password as often as you like.
How can emergency responders see my information if it is password protected?
Only emergency information is available to view without logging into the system with a password. This separate screen allows them to view vital information which allows them to better treat you medically.
How will the first responder know I have myMedStick?
By a variety of ways. The logo on the USB drive, driver’s license cover, window decals, wristband or necklace.
Why should I purchase myMedStick?
This will streamline admission with hospitals, clinics and doctors’ offices. Fire rescue, ambulances, doctors and nurses will benefit because during an emergency they now have your medical information for correct medical treatment within seconds, which will avoid possible life threatening medical errors.
Do I need to install something on my computer for this to work?
Most likely, no. Most Windows-based computers have all the drivers installed. However, if they don’t you can install them from the myMedStick drive, called Setup.
What is HIPAA?
Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 mandates significant changes in the legal and regulatory environments governing the provision of health benefits, the delivery and payment of healthcare services, and the security and confidentiality of individually identifiable, protected health information.
The law is composed of two major legislative actions: provisions for health insurance reform and requirements for administrative simplification. Complying with all aspects of HIPAA will require providers and virtually all entities within the healthcare industry (including clinical research) to make significant changes to their information systems, operations policies and procedures and business practices.
Is myMedStick HIPPA compliant?
Yes. HIPPA does not allow anyone including your doctor or hospital to share your medical information with someone else without permission. Since this product is protected with a password and encryption, no one can see it without your permission.
What is the warranty on something like this?
The software has a lifetime warranty and the USB drive has a factory warranty of 2 years. Normally, the USB drive has a life of about 10 years. However, we recommend replacing the USB drive every 3 to 4 years.
How much storage can I put on one myMedStick?
It depends on the size of the USB drive as to how many pictures and images you can store. We recommend 4 to 8 gig drives if you have a lot of medical history to store in the program.
How hard is it to change the passwords and how many are there?
There are 2 passwords in the system: the Login Password and the Private Password for TABS such as myLiving Will, myWill, myMedical Surrogate, and myPower of Attorney. Changing them involves three easy steps described in the program.
As a company, how can this be a benefit to my employees and will it cost me money?

Is there a special plan from which our company’s employees can purchase MyMedStick?
Yes, we are set up to do bulk purchases. Give us a call and we’ll make arrangements.
Can I have more than one person on a USB Drive?
Yes, we are the only company that allows you to have your information AND your family’s as well. All units are set up for one primary member and 4 other users.
Can a group on the road keep everyone on one USB drive?
Yes, all must be myMedStick members and the amount of people are determined by the USB medical device.
What if I don’t have a computer in my home?
There are public places that will give you access to their computers i.e. library, malls, coffee shops, and schools. We recommend a family member that has one so they can update your information from time to time.
